Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur is the first private healthcare provider in the Klang Valley to establish its Radiotherapy & Oncology Department in 1981 that offered cancer care facilities. Through the years, the department has gone through several phases of rebranding and upgrading activities until it was relaunched as the Cancer Centre @ PHKL in 2018.

The Cancer Centre @ PHKL is now a one-stop Centre of Excellence in Cancer Care that allows all phases of treatment starting from the screening & diagnostics, medication, surgery & therapy and post treatment care are conducted in one clinic to ensure patients’ convenience and comfort.

The centre is also supported by a strong team of experienced consultants and healthcare professionals that also offer additional services such as counselling sessions for patients and family members to prepare them for the next steps towards recovery.

Haematology-Oncology

Hematology-oncology is referring to a combined medical practice of haematology (the study of the blood’s physiology) and oncology (the study of cancer). For each patient, we will devise a personalised treatment plan that provides optimal treatment modalities and clinical outcomes.

At PHKL we provide a comprehensive and extensive range of treatments for cancerous blood disorders. Our Haematologist & Bone Marrow Transplant consultant provides intensive chemotherapy, molecular targeted therapy and novel immunotherapy to stem cell transplantation. We also provide cell processing and cell collection platform using the Spectra Optia Apheresis System.

Nuclear Diagnostics and Therapeutics

Nuclear Medicine Imaging is a branch of medical imaging, which uses a small amount of radioactive substance injected into the body, inhaled or swallowed, to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases including cancers, gastrointestinal, heart disease, endocrine and neurological disorder.

Nuclear Medicine Therapy is an approach to treat cancer that can be used with or after other treatment options, such as chemotherapy and surgery, with the aim to control symptoms, shrink and stabilise the tumours.

Other Support Services

Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur’s Multiple-Disciplinary Tumour Board Meeting is held every Friday since 2008 to discuss cancer cases to ensure that all options are weighed in before any treatment or surgery is performed. The meeting is usually attended by Oncologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Radiologists, Pathologists, Physicians, Surgeons and other healthcare professionals to have collective of professional insights on patient care management.

Our Patient Navigation team is a complementary and complimentary service provided by our experienced and well-trained healthcare professionals. They work closely with our consultants to ensure that you receive substantial information before making any decisions about the continuous care.
