Endoscopy is a non-surgical procedure that allows our doctors to have a thorough examination of your digestive tract to determine any diseases or causes of discomfort. An endoscope – a thin, flexible tube with both light and camera attached – will be inserted into the digestive tract where doctors are able to observe the organ through the video images.
Procedures carried out in the Endoscopy Unit:
- Diagnostic & therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopies
- OGDS (Gastroscopy)
- ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography)
- PEG (Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) tube insertion
- Stenting (biliary, oesophageal & colorectal)
