Overview

Our Rehabilitation Centre provides a wide range of rehabilitation services to help our patients on their road to recovery. Our facility is equipped to facilitate our patients’ progress in treatments such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy as well as speech and language therapy among others. A wide variety of exercise-based programmes are tailored to suit our patients’ individual needs.

Pantai Integrated Rehab has a strong team consisting of over 100 Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and Speech and Language therapists. We commit strongly to Continuing Professional Development and are apply best practices to offer patients the best possible rehabilitation and wellness programmes.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy includes:

  • Hand therapy: Through the use of modalities and orthosis, this therapy enhances the range of motion and strength for patients who have experienced upper limb fractures, nerve/tendon injuries, congenital deformities and repetitive strain injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, tendonitis. When necessary, we will also train patients on activity modification for relapse prevention of repetitive strain injuries. Customised splints and orthosis are available for upper and lower limbs, and off-the-shelf braces for the neck and back.
  • Neuro-rehabilitation programme: This programme comprises of training in upper limb activity, sitting balance, and daily living skills for patients with stroke, head or spinal cord injuries, Guillain-Barre syndrome and others neurological disorders and injuries. We have a dedicated team who specialises in enhancing functional independence in our patients. Caregiver training is also provided to equip caregiver with skills to help the patient lead a functional life.
  • Home evaluation/modifications: Our hospital provides an assessment of the patient's dynamic standing balance in order to ensure their home is well-equipped with grab-bars to prevent falls, as well as to help overcome physical barriers within and outside the home, including the use of off-the-shell or customised ramps.
  • Aids/appliances prescription: To provide the most suitable aids or appliances such as wheelchairs, commode, shower chair, raised toilet seats or long-handled reacher for maximum independence at home with consideration for the patient’s functional ability.
  • Stress management and anxiety management: Our professionals will guide and educate on techniques in learning specific coping skills to busy professionals who find difficulty in achieving work-life balance.

Physiotherapy

Our physiotherapists help patients with physical symptoms and movement impairments due to injuries or diseases to regain their mobility and health.

Our services include:

  • Back/Neck Rehabilitation: Pain management, manual techniques, postural and ergonomics assessment and advice, core strengthening and exercises are some of the techniques that may be used to reduce and manage the symptoms of acute or chronic back pain during daily life.
  • Rehabilitation for sports injuries: Pain management, activity modification and assessment/correction of sporting techniques are used to shorten recovery time and allow our patients to participate in sports they love.
  • Post-operative rehabilitation: Proper guidance and exercise prescription are given to rehabilitate our patients back to their pre-injury condition especially after ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair or total knee/hip replacement.
  • Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy: Rehabilitation after cardiothoracic surgeries such as bypass surgery, valve replacement surgery and lung/abdominal surgeries are given as a prevention strategy and help manage consistent cardiothoracic activity to achieve a better quality of health.
  • Neuro-rehabilitation: Comprehensive exercise regiments to help regain normal muscle movement and function after stroke, spinal cord injury, head injury, and other injuries.
  • Vestibular (balance) rehabilitation: an exercise-based rehabilitation programme to treat patients with vertigo and imbalance resulting from inner ear deficits or central nervous system disorders.

Other Services:

  • Craniosacral therapy: A gentle light touch therapy that works on the central nervous and fascial system to manage both acute and chronic pain. It promotes overall health, wellbeing and good stress management.
  • Post-natal exercises: The most important exercise in the first few days after birth is the pelvic floor exercise. Our physiotherapists can guide you with exercises for after-birth recovery.

Speech Language Therapy

We have a team of well-qualified Speech Therapists who specialise in the evaluation and treatment of communication deficits and swallowing disorders for both adults and children.
