PHAK Clinical Outcomes Journey

2019

Started our Value-Driven Outcome journey for 4 procedures: ACL Reconstruction, Total Knee Replacement, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Colonoscopy.

2020

Started clinical improvement projects to improve quality of bowel preparation and caecal intubation rate (CIR).

2021

Improvements in quality of bowel preparation and CIR resulted in sustained increase in adenoma detection rate for patients 50 years and above.

2022

Added 2 more procedures under the VDO initiatives: Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and Hysterectomy.

2023

Implemented clinical improvement projects focused on pre-PCI dual antiplatelet administration and pre-TKR rehabilitation.

Colonoscopy Outcomes

100% patients achieved optimal care index with all parameters above international benchmarks.

In 2021 & 2022, 55% of our elective colonoscopy patients are 50 years old and above. 45% of these patients had at least one adenoma detected and 2% had adenocarcinoma, above international benchmarks. Early detection saves lives.

PHAK statistic from 2021 – 2022 reflects high risk and complex cases (↑ CTO, LMS and Bifurcation) with 98% procedure success (above NCVD reference).
