Baby first fever.
In middle of night, we notice baby's head and body at high temp. We wake him up, change diapers, feed milk, put on baby fever (forehead and back body). Measured his temp and record. After milk, we put him back to sleep for monitoring.Am I doing it right? Should I rush to hospital? He's 8 months old.

Answer:
It's concerning to hear that your baby has a high temperature in the middle of the night. It's important to monitor their temperature closely and address it promptly. Here are some steps you can take:

1. **Medication:** You mentioned you've already put a fever patch on your baby's forehead . Paracetamol can also be used for reducing fever in infants. Make sure to follow the dosing instructions carefully based on your baby's age and weight.

2. **Hydration:** Ensure your baby is well-hydrated by offering small amounts of fluids frequently, such as breast milk or formula.

3. **Cooling Measures:** You can also try to keep your baby cool by dressing them in light clothing and using a fan to circulate air. Avoid using cold or lukewarm baths as they may cause shivering and increase body temperature.

4. **Monitor:** Continuously monitor your baby's temperature and observe for any other concerning symptoms such as difficulty breathing, persistent crying, or changes in behavior or poor feeding or less active than usual.

If the fever persists or worsens, or if you notice any alarming symptoms, contact your pediatrician or seek medical attention immediately.
