Colonoscopy required
I recently had a medical check up at Lam Wah Ee hospital in Penang. The CEA Tumour Marker test showed an abnormal result of 7.60. I have previously had a colonoscopy in New Zealand with a scheduled re-test in 2026, however, I am currently sailing in Malaysia and based in Pangkor (Lumut). Is it possible to book a colonoscopy in Manjung or Ipoh and to consult with a gastroeneterologist.

Answer:

Dear Sir/Madam,

We extend our sincere gratitude for choosing Pantai Hospital Malaysia for your healthcare requirements.

We understand your concern and would like to inform you that it is indeed possible to book a colonoscopy at our hospital facilities in either Manjung or Ipoh. However, please note that a referral letter is required prior to scheduling the procedure.

If you do not currently have a referral letter, we recommend that you first consult with one of our gastroenterologists, who can assess your medical history and determine the appropriate next steps, including issuing a referral if necessary.

Should you wish to proceed, we would be happy to assist in scheduling a consultation with a gastroenterologist at your convenience.
