Large lump in throat, dysphagia, with severe fibrosis
There is severe fibrosis in the soft palate of the mouth/throat causing narrowing of the throat opening. In the neck and interior throat there is a large lump that moves when pressure is applied. Also much difficulty swallowing. What testing is recommended? What is the cost? Is Emergency Room visit necessary? Thank you.

Answer:

Dear Sir/Madam,

We extend our sincere gratitude for choosing Pantai Hospital Malaysia for your healthcare requirements.

Based on the symptoms described, we strongly recommend that you consult with our specialist for a proper clinical evaluation. A thorough assessment, including physical examination and any necessary investigations, is important in order to determine the cause and the most appropriate treatment plan.

As each medical case is unique and treatment requirements vary from patient to patient, we are unable to provide an estimated cost without an in-person consultation and confirmed diagnosis.

If the symptoms worsen, particularly if there is increasing difficulty swallowing, breathing issues, pain, or rapid changes in the lump size, you may walk in to our Emergency Department for immediate medical attention.
