Mouth breather in toddler
Should i be worried if my 1 year old child had been chronically sleep with open mouth. Should i bring him to see ENT specialist.

Answer:
It is not uncommon for children to occasionally sleep with their mouths open, but if it has become a chronic habit, it may indicate underlying issues such as nasal congestion, enlarged tonsils or adenoids, or other respiratory concerns. Sleeping with the mouth open can sometimes lead to dry mouth, disrupted sleep, and potential issues with oral health.

We would recommend scheduling an appointment with an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) specialist to properly evaluate your child's condition. An ENT specialist will be able to assess whether there are any anatomical or medical reasons for your child's open mouth sleeping and provide advice or treatment options, if necessary.
