One side ear sudden ache and tinnitus(high pitch)
During 6pm, it started from a itch and tinsy ache on right ear , then around 3am midnight, sudden tinnitus (high pitch voice constant) and the hearing sound of right ear decrease compared to left ear.Should I be worried, what should I do?
Based on your description—starting with itchiness and mild pain in the right ear, followed by sudden onset of persistent high-pitched ringing (tinnitus) and reduced hearing in that ear—this is not something that should be ignored, especially as the hearing change occurred suddenly.
Such symptoms may be related to conditions including ear infection, inflammation, fluid in the middle ear, or in some cases sudden sensorineural hearing loss, which requires early medical assessment. Prompt treatment can significantly improve outcomes.
We strongly recommend that you:
-Seek medical attention as soon as possible, preferably within 24 hours
-Visit our Emergency Department or schedule an urgent consultation with an ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) specialist
-Avoid inserting any objects or ear drops into the ear unless prescribed by a doctor
Please seek immediate medical care if you experience any of the following:
-Worsening or complete hearing loss
-Severe ear pain
-Dizziness or vertigo
-Facial weakness or numbness
-Ear discharge or fever
