Pain in right hand
I have been experiencing pain in my right hand for about a few months. The pain started in my wrist and affects both the palm and the back of my hand. When I move my fingers, I feel sharp, pinching, and tingling sensations, especially nerve pain in my index finger.Sometimes, the pain and tingling radiate from my hand up my forearm to my shoulder, neck, and upper back.I also experience heaviness and tightness in my forearm and shoulder. The pain worsens with movement, hand use, and prolonged phone use, and slightly improves with rest.I do not have constant numbness, but I feel nerve-related pain, particularly in the index finger.

Answer:
It sounds like you may be experiencing symptoms of a condition called De Quervain's tenosynovitis, which is inflammation of the tendons on the thumb side of the wrist. This can cause pain in the wrist, palm, and back of the hand, especially when you move your fingers or thumb.

I recommend that you start by applying ice to the affected area for 15-20 minutes a few times a day to help reduce inflammation. Resting your hand and avoiding activities that worsen the pain can also be helpful.

If the pain persists, you may need to see a healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis and treatment. They may recommend wearing a splint to immobilize your wrist, or prescribe anti-inflammatory medications to help with the pain and swelling. Physical therapy exercises can also be beneficial in improving mobility and reducing pain.

It's important not to ignore persistent hand pain as it can affect your daily activities. Make sure to seek medical attention if the pain does not improve with at-home treatments.
