Pilonidal Sinus Treatment

HiI have Pilonidal Sinus but no fever or pain.Some blood discharge now and then, it is getting worse as I noticed a new opening formed and a new red pimple forming.its been around a year and i did not have any pain, just annoying that it discharge blood sometimeIt is located in my lower back. Do I need surgery, or can I get it done with a laser?I am a student and need a fast recovery
