ROTAVIRUS VACCINE
my son was 30 weeks premature baby ,born in 01/09 . May I know is he still suitable for the vaccine ? As I know there is age limit for the vaccine not more than 15 weeks .

Answer:
We understand that your son was born prematurely at 30 weeks on 1st September, and you are concerned about age limits for vaccines. Please be informed that premature infants are generally eligible for routine vaccinations according to their chronological age, unless there are specific medical contraindications.

While certain vaccines have recommended age ranges, healthcare providers often adjust the schedule for preterm babies to ensure safety and efficacy. Some vaccines that have upper age limits, may require careful timing, and your pediatrician can advise on the appropriate alternative schedule if your child is beyond the standard age window.

We recommend that you consult our pediatrician. They will review your son’s medical history, current health status, and prematurity to provide a safe and effective vaccination plan.
