640-Slice CT Scanner

A Computed Tomography (CT) scan combines X-rays and computers to generate detailed anatomical images. Recent advances in Computed Tomography (CT) have improved the quality of imaging by providing fast, thin-slice and wide range scanning capability.

Pantai Hospital Ayer Keroh is the first in Melaka to install the state-of-the-art 640-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner with reduced radiation dose requirements. This CT scanner produces precise images of tissues, from bone to delicate peripheral arteries, leading to more accurate diagnosis.

What are the advantages?

Dynamic FunctionalImaging

Featuring Deep Learning Neural Networks, the Advanced Intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE) is capable of producing images that are sharp, clear and distinct at low dose. AiCE provides enhanced anatomical resolution across many body regions including the brain, lung, cardiac and musculoskeletal scans. Patients are assured of superior diagnostic imaging with low noise, fine image texture, sharp high contrast resolution and clear low contrast detectability.

Offers High Definition Images in a Single Rotation

The CT scanner is capable of capturing high-quality images of the entire organs such as the heart, neonatal chest, brain and foot in a single 640-slice rotation, covering up to 16cm in a fraction of a second with reduced radiation dose.

Access Whole Body in Single Scan

The vHP3 feature allows three examinations to be performed in a single scan and shortening the examination time. This could decrease the amount of contrast media needed and radiation exposure to patients. With three scans in one, the single series reconstruction enables simultaneous interpretation.

Accuracy in Diagnosis and Improvement in Treatment of Diseases

The 640-slice CT scanner allows enhance diagnosis in cardiology, neurology, orthopaedic, oncology and gastroenterology.

The CT scanner is capable of evaluating and diagnosing cardiac disorders with utmost accuracy. It reacts instantly to a change in the patient’s heart rate ensuring diagnostic image quality even in patients with arrhythmia.

Stroke diagnosis and treatment is enhanced with the 640-slice CT scanner. It can quickly and accurately capture the entire brain in single imaging, increasing the efficiency to identify affected brain tissue and seeing early signs of stroke.

Dose Reduction

Equipped with VISION Optics, the 640-Slice CT scanner allows the x-ray spectrum to be optimized for low dose and high image quality scanning. Up to 31% less dose could be used for body imaging, therefore minimizing the radiation exposure to patients.

Patient-centric design

The 640-slice CT scanner is designed with the patients’ experience in mind. Its unique flared gantry provides a wide-open space, allowing patients to be easily placed and removed from the front and rear of the gantry during trauma or interventional procedures. The CT scanner increases the patient’s comfort and operator convenience while making procedures safer and more efficient.
