Kwan Choon Yoong is the Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Ampang and Pantai Cheras. He leads both hospitals with a focus on operational stability, strong clinical governance, and disciplined execution.
Previously, Choon Yoong served as Deputy CEO of Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, managing an expanded portfolio in a complex operating environment. He strengthened clinical governance and consultant performance management, while advancing the hospital’s readiness for Joint Commission International Clinical Care Program Certification.
He also led improvements in day-to-day patient care, including initiatives that reduced patient falls and enhanced nursing onboarding. At the same time, he drove ward remodelling and capacity expansion, and supported pricing alignment efforts to position the hospital for sustainable growth.
Within that capacity, he helmed regional operational projects, working with cross- functional and hospital teams to drive efficiency and improvement across the Central Region. His experience at both hospital and regional level enables him to balance strategic oversight with practical and on-the-ground execution.
Earlier, as Chief Operating Officer of Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, he oversaw hospital operations, the nursing division, and major renovation projects, while supporting preparations for Joint Commission International accreditation. He streamlined processes, reduced turnaround times, and optimised resource utilisation to enhance patient experience and satisfaction.
