Accident And Emergency Department

Pantai Hospital Ipoh ’s Accident & Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day and well-equipped to handle any injury or medical emergency, round-the-clock every day. At the A&E, the dedicated team of doctors and nurses are specially trained for emergency situations. They will evaluate the situation immediately using the triage method. The most severe cases with life-threatening conditions will be our topmost priority, while the rest may need to wait, depending on the number of patients at the A&E.

In addition to having a team of emergency specialists assessing and managing your case, a multidisciplinary team of specialists and surgeons are also on call to attend to complex medical conditions.

At Pantai Hospital Ipoh, we pride ourselves in the emergency care, treatment and management of these conditions:

Various kind of trauma including motor vehicle accidents, industrial accidents , domestic accidents, sport injuries and etc
Medical emergencies such as:

Heart attack, cardiac arrest
Breathing difficulty such as acute asthmas, choking
Stroke, fits or loss of consciousness
Hypertensive emergencies

Paediatric emergencies
Surgical emergencies including acute abdomen pain, vomiting blood etc

The diagnostic process at the Emergency may involve various departments (modalities) such as the clinical laboratory services and imaging services. Once the patient has received the urgent medical intervention, he or she is transferred to a ward for further observation and treatment.

Triage & Waiting Time

The triage system is used to sort patients into categories so those with urgent medical needs get help first. The assessment is based on how sick a patient is upon arrival at the emergency.

An overview of three category triage acuity systems; i.e. red being the most severe , yellow and green being stable.
