Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) is a branch in medicine that specialises in the medical care and health of women. It covers two subspecialties which are obstetrics, one that deals with the care of women during pregnancy and childbirth, and gynaecology which refers to the care of women’s reproductive health and diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions affecting the vagina, uterus and ovaries.

At Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani, we are committed to providing safe and quality maternity care to the women in the community. Our O&G facility is led by a team of 4 multi-racial Senior O&G Consultants. Two of them are females, one of whom is a Muslim .

The O&G team is supported by dedicated and skilled nurses who are trained in neonatal care, midwifery and lactation, thus ensuring that both the mother and the newborn receive optimal care throughout their stay with us.

We are committed to helping pregnant women overcome the challenges of pregnancy and experience it safely during the three critical stages. From pregnancy to childbirth, our hospital maintains a comfortable and safe facility for the delivery and care of newborn babies.

The Pantai Hospital O&G facility provides top-quality treatment options, such as 3D scan, twins delivery, and fertility services (IUI). Other services include:

Our O&G specialists also diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases related to female sexual health that encompass the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix, vagina, and vulva. Pap smear screening and HPV vaccination are available with the aim of preventing cervical cancers. Treatment of female sexual problems varies depending on their disease, the cause, and presentation. This could entail either medical management or surgical procedures.
