Pantai Hospital Laguna Merbok Accident & Emergency Department is open 24 Hours on a daily basis and is well equipped to handle various emergency conditions. Our dedicated team of medical officers and nurses are well trained to manage emergency conditions.

In addition, our team of specialists are on call daily and are ready to attend to patients who require emergency treatment.

The following emergency conditions can be treated at our A&E department:

Various kinds of trauma cases including motor vehicle, industrial and domestic accidents.
Obstetrics and gynaecology emergency such as heavy per vagina bleeding and ectopic pregnancy.
Paediatric emergency such as high fever,seizures and breathing difficulty.
ENT Emergency such as nose bleed, jaw dislocation and foreign body in ear, nose and throat.
Surgical emergency such as acute appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, strangulated hernia and per rectal bleeding.
Cardiology emergency such as arrhythmia and acute coronary syndrome
Medical emergency such as sepsis and difficulty breathing.

The treatment process at the Emergency may involve various departments such as the clinical laboratory and imaging services. Once the patient has received urgent medical attention, he or she will be transferred to the ward for further observation and treatment.

All patients will be assessed by the medical officer. Subsequently, patients will be referred to see the relevant specialist.

After assessment by specialist, patient will then be admitted to the ward directly from A&E department.

We accept various modes of payment including cash, on-line payment and major credit cards.

If you are paying via insurance, eg. personal accident plan or comprehensive plan, here are the documents needed:

	A photocopy of your NRIC/passport
	All relevant investigation results (eg blood test, x-ray and scan reports)

Medical officer will conduct initial assessment of the patient and then refer the patient to our specialist. Our specialist will assess the patient before proceeding for admission.

8	Why do you keep a patient under observation instead of admitting them?

Not all patients require admission. Some conditions can be treated on an outpatient basis and the patient requires observation until his/her clinical condition is stable before being allowed for discharge.
