Chong Soon Mei is the Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur. In this role, she leads the hospital’s overall strategy and performance, strengthening Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur’s position as a flagship hospital within IHH Healthcare Malaysia.
Prior to this appointment, Soon Mei served as Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Hospital Ampang and Pantai Hospital Cheras, where she fostered strong synergy between the two hospitals to drive collaboration, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. She oversaw business performance, hospital operations, and regulatory compliance across both facilities.
With over 30 years of experience in Malaysia’s healthcare sector, Soon Mei brings extensive industry knowledge and a strong track record of leadership. Since her appointment as CEO of Pantai Hospital Ampang in 2021, she has strengthened clinical capabilities through the recruitment of consultants in key subspecialties, established a dedicated endoscopy unit, and introduced a close observation unit in the Paediatric Ward to enhance monitoring and improve outcomes for children.
Earlier in her career, Soon Mei spent more than six years with another private hospital, where she progressed from Deputy Director of Nursing to Chief Operating Officer, building broad operational and clinical leadership expertise.
